Graydon K. Wetzler

As a performance studies scholar, my research combines philosophy of science, media ecology and experimental ethnography. My dissertation sought historiographic, material and speculative maps across security techniques, post-object aesthetics and sensory systems research. This research program is rooted in a sustained interest to combine philosophical systems with creative research practices. To study surveillance systems, for example, I might draw on film theory and phenomenology of perception in order to elicit some latency, formulate an ethnographic approach or repurpose a given surveillance application.
